5 THINGS TO DO TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF YOUR QUARANTINE

Wherever in the world you are, you are probably spending most of your time at home. The lockdown has drastically changed our everyday life and we need to find new ways to spend our days.

Here is a list of things you can do to keep yourself busy during these hard times:

1. Workout

Probably this option doesn’t sound that appealing to most of you but keeping yourself active is very important and it will make you feel so much better! 20-30 minutes per day is enough to move a little and sweat. Youtube is the best place to find free workouts according to your taste and level. If you are not into workout that much, try Yoga or Pilates. The point here is to be active and stretch your legs so you can stay in bed longer watching Netflix without feeling guilty!

2. Cooking

With no places to go to grab your favourite food, there is no other option than having to cook every single meal. Whether you like it or not, you are gonna have to put yourself at work. If you don’t know where to start, the Internet is, as always, extremely helpful. Grab you favourite recipe and start creating! You will get better and better as you get more confident in the kitchen. Keep practicing to surprise your family and friends with a delicious dinner once everything will be over.

3. Online course

I am pretty sure there are lot of things that interest you. If you were considering getting deeper and learn new things, this is the best time to do it! There are plenty of online courses, from painting to finance, from guitar lessons to marketing. Whatever thing you are into, grab your laptop and start your class! Coursera.com is a free online learning platform that offers thousands of online courses, specialisation and degrees from top universities. Here you will definitely find something interesting that will keep you busy for a little while.

4. Learn a new language

We will definitely be traveling again, it’s just a matter of time. I’m sure you have a favourite language or a favourite country you want to travel to once borders are open again. There is no better time than now to learn a new language. It’s not only something that will be extremely useful in the future, but also something that will allow you to travel from home. Get deeper into the culture of the country, learn the most traditional songs and watch movies in that language. Duolingo is definitely a good start but if you take it to the next level you will make the entire process a way more fun!

5. Get creative and “do it yourself”

This is definitely my favourite one. There are no limits here. Do you want to decorate your room or your house? Now is the time to do it! Want to make a table for the dining room or a little shelf for your books? Let’s do it! As always, Youtube is the answer and there is nothing a good tutorial can’t teach you. Pinterest is the best place to get inspiration from. I am sure you will end up renovating your entire home. Just choose one thing you want to make from scratch/build/repair/renovate and put yourself at work! Trust me, you will feel accomplished and very proud of yourself. Best feeling ever!

I hope you got a little inspiration to better spend your next days at home. Let’s see things with positivity and fill our days with good energy. There are infinite ways to get the most out of this situation and to turn this bad time into an opportunity for personal growth and to have fun while trying different things!

Better days are coming. In the meantime, enjoy your days at home and stay safe!
